“Hello! This is Jody Dreyer from Walt Disney Studios. I would like to come to visit interlinc and discuss having you work on our new film, ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.”

When the switchboard operator in our out-of-the-way office in the countryside outside of Nashville relayed the message to our President, Allen Weed, his response was, “Sure, (it’s got to be a joke), tell her to come on out and see us.”

Well, it was no joke, and she came! That one-hour meeting (which wound up being four hours!) turned into an amazing student-ministry relationship with one of our dearest friends and colaborers, Jody Dreyer, and became one of the biggest film project interlinc has ever worked on! Together with Jody we had 20,000 youthworkers use “Prince Caspian” in their ministries.

“We all want the fairy tale, a story alive with adventure, fantasy, and rewards,” says Dreyer. “But most of us feel stuck in our everyday routines, devoid of magical moments. Finding our own happily-ever-after isn’t magic. It’s found in discovering more of our purpose, telling our story with our own cast of characters, and uncovering the joy of Happily Ever After. Every day, every season of our life has a magic all its own. Beyond the Castle uses Disney as the doorway to unlock and illuminate life’s true treasure.”

Following her first family vacation to Disney World in 1971, just three months after the park was opened, Dreyer was smitten and already saving for her second trip. When she learned her passion could be a career, she signed up for a summer internship as a parade can-can dancer. From her first job in guest relations to leading worldwide synergy, heading Disney’s global outreach and working with top leadership at Walt Disney Motion Pictures – Dreyer unpacks enduring principles about Disney and life’s great journey.
