Objective

To encourage students to trust God in times of brokenness, recognize His power to restore and provide hope, and cultivate dependence on Him in their everyday lives.

Warm Up

Impossible Situations– Divide the group into small teams and give them a set of challenge cards with scenarios that seem impossible to resolve (e.g., “You have no money and need to buy food,” or “You’re lost in the wilderness with no map or phone”).

Each team has three minutes to come up with a creative way to solve the situation. Share answers and have fun comparing ideas.

Discussion Questions:

  • Have you ever faced something that felt truly impossible to overcome?
  • How did you feel in that moment?
  • Who or what did you turn to for help?

Transition

Many of us have moments when we feel hopeless or broken, like there’s no way out. TobyMac’s song “God Did It” tells the story of someone who faced those moments but found restoration and hope.

Let’s watch the video and reflect on what God can do in the most impossible situations.

  • What stood out to you most in the song or video?
  • Why do you think the man in the story gave credit to God for his transformation?
  • How does this song remind you of your own life or someone you know?

Bible Study

Read Psalm 34:18

  • What does it mean for God to be close to the brokenhearted?
  • Have you ever experienced that?
  • Think about a time when you felt brokenhearted. How comforting is it to know that God promises to be close to us in those moments?

Read 2 Corinthians 12:9

  • How does this verse help us understand how God uses our weaknesses?

Sometimes we try to hide our weaknesses or feel ashamed of them, but this verse reminds us that our weaknesses are an opportunity for God to show His strength.

  • How does that perspective change how you view tough situations?

Read Ephesians 3:20

  • What does this verse teach us about trusting God with impossible situations?

When we face challenges that seem too big for us, it’s easy to doubt that things can change. But this verse reminds us that God’s power is limitless.

  • What would it look like to trust Him fully in those moments?
  • What is one moment in your life when you experienced something only God could have done?

Hearing stories of how God works in the lives of others can inspire our faith. As we listen, let’s celebrate the ways He has already shown His power in our lives and others.

Wrap Up
God specializes in turning impossible situations around. When we feel broken, hopeless, anxious, or at the end of our strength, He is ready to step in and show His power.

Our role is to trust Him and lean not on our own understanding. Trust His promises!

Personal Story: There was a time in my life when I felt completely overwhelmed. I had reached a point where I could not rely on my own strength, and it felt like everything was falling apart. I vividly remember sitting down and praying, “God, I don’t know what to do, but I trust that You do.”

Over the following weeks and months, I watched God work in ways I couldn’t have imagined– opening doors, providing resources, and giving me peace amid uncertainty. It wasn’t always immediate, but it was undeniable that God was at work. Just like in the song, it was a moment where I could say, “Nobody but God did it.”

Challenge: This week, take a moment to pray about an area of your life where you feel stuck or broken. Trust God to work in ways you can’t yet see and be open to His timing and plan.
