Why Manafest?
Heart Of The Artist
Christopher Scott Greenwood (aka Manafest) is a Canadian Christian rapper and rock artist from Pickering, Ontario, Canada. Manafest is committed to stirring up the God-given dreams of high school students. His music, rhymes, and messages rock!
“A fighter isn’t someone who never fails. A fighter is someone who never quits.”
“Pain is a powerful teacher.”
“If you want something different in your life tomorrow you need to plant something different in your life today...”
That’s why all of Manafest’s albums have been in Youth Leaders Only.
In 1984, at the age of five, Chris lost his father to suicide. A few years after, at Bible camp, he put his faith in Christ . Around the age of fourteen, Greenwood went hard after skateboarding and aspired to make it a career. He, however, experienced an accident in 1998 which crippled his dreams to become a pro skater.
After hearing God tell him to turn his attention to music, Greenwood began songwriting and started his pursuit as a Christian artist. In 2001, Chris debuted his first EP, Mislead Youth, under the name Manafest. The EP garnered “Modern Rock/Alternative Song of the Year” for the song “Freedom” at the GMA Canada Covenant Awards.
Manafest is a multifaceted artist excelling as a singer, songwriter, rapper, author, and skater. He skillfully blends rock and rap in his music, drawing from personal experiences and diverse inspirations that resonate with fans worldwide. His distinctive style has earned him four JUNO nominations, and his songs have been featured in high-profile spots like the 2024 Olympics Omega Watches commercial and Superbowl 2024.
Manafest’s music has also been showcased in the NFL, video games, TV shows such as Knight Rider, One Tree Hill, MTV Unplugged, and the movie Hard Target 2. His engaging and infectious music has sold over 1,000,000 albums globally and led to more than 1,000 performances across four continents.
